AssaultCube Server — Install & Connect

Server Information (Multiplayer -> Custom Connect)

Game Port: 28763 (default port, no need to specify)

1. Download AssaultCube

AssaultCube is free, open-source, and about 50 MB. Download it from the official site (choose your operating system on that page):

Official source: The link above goes to assault.cubers.net, the project's official website. Pick the version for your OS on that page.

2. Install AssaultCube

🪟 Windows

Download the Windows Installer (.exe).
Run it and follow the on-screen instructions.
Launch AssaultCube from the Start Menu or desktop shortcut.

🐧 Linux

Easiest option is Flatpak (works on all major distributions):

Install Flatpak if you don't have it:

sudo apt install flatpak
flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https://flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo

Install AssaultCube:

flatpak install flathub net.cubers.assault.AssaultCube

Run the game:

flatpak run net.cubers.assault.AssaultCube

Prefer the manual tarball? Download it from the official site, extract it, then run: chmod +x bin_unix/* followed by ./assaultcube.sh. On Debian/Ubuntu you may need: sudo apt-get install libsdl1.2debian libsdl-image1.2 zlib1g libogg0 libvorbis0a libopenal1 libcurl4.

🍎 macOS

Download the macOS version from the official site.
Open the .dmg file and drag AssaultCube to your Applications folder.
Launch it from Applications.

3. Connect to This Server

Launch AssaultCube.
Press ESC and choose Multiplayer → Custom connect.
Enter the server address and port:

vps.eeff.com.br 28763
```
When prompted, enter the server password.
Click Connect and start playing!

Troubleshooting: If the client doesn't accept the hostname, resolve it first with ping vps.eeff.com.br and enter the resulting IP with port 28763. This server is private and does not appear in the public server browser — you must use Custom connect.

4. Default Controls

First time playing? Here are the default keys. You can rebind everything in Settings → Keyboard settings from the in-game menu.
